Roc Nation and Mavin record diva Tiwa Savage has been billed to perform at the 8th edition of the Essence Black Women In Music Festival in Los Angeles come February 9th.
Four time Grammy award winner Erykah Badu will be the main honouree at the event. Badu’s induction into the Essence Black women in music list coincides with the 20th anniversary of the release of her debut album Baduizm, released on Feb. 11, 1997. The album won best R&B album at the Grammys the following year.
Others who have been honoured by essence include: Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, Kelly Rowland, Janelle Monae, Solange, Emeli Sandé and more.
Maybe one day our own Tiwa Savage will move from a performer at the EBWIM to a honouree.
