‘Stop comparing me to other musicians, I have a limit to what I can do for fame’ – Waconzy

Singer, Obinna Kelvin Anyanwu, better known by stage name Waconzy, has revealed that other musicians go the extra mile for fame and he shouldn’t be compared with them.

He took to his Instagram page to talk on how unlike other artistes, he can’t walk down a certain road because there’s a limit to what he can do for the glitz and glamour.

He also insinuated that the “other things” doesn’t make them rest but he has peace of mind and a clear conscience which is very priceless.

In his words, he wrote,

“Pls Stop comparing me to other musicians. I have a limit to the things I can do for fame (u won’t understand) . But at the end of the day , it’s all vanity upon vanity . Most importantly , I have peace of mind & a clear conscience which to me is priceless”

Waconzy was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, is a singer, songwriter, record producer and philanthropist with family roots in Umuahia, Abia State. He is the founder of Dv8 Media and the Waconzy foundation. He rose to prominence in 2010 with his song “I Celebrate” which sold platinum. His second album Money Back Guarantee was released in 2013. He is currently signed to Dv8 Media.

The name Waconzy is a blend of two English words ‘Wacko and Zany” which describes his musical/lyrical delivery. He calls his style of music ‘Word Music’ because he also fuses other international genres to his afrocentric style of music. A lot of people call him an Afro Soul musician while others call him an Afro Pop musician.

He is also into Oil and Gas, Importation of cars, exportation of Agricultural products, computers, inverters and event solutions.

Waconzy, under the Waconzy foundation, has in the paid and sponsored tuition fees for over 500 primary school pupils. Waconzy has Fed over a thousand destitute in one day. He launched the Waconzy VS Malaria – Zero tolerance campaign which is primarily aimed at fighting the menace of malaria in Africa. He has distributed over 6500 mosquito nets and anti-malaria drugs.

Waconzy said he has plans to turn to a pastor in due time because he has a calling.
